Definition - What does Tubing Perforator Equipment mean?
A Tubing Perforator is a device that is used to make adequate size perforations in the cemented cased wellbore so that hydrocarbons can be sucked into the wellbore from these perforations due to pressure difference. There are multiple perforations made by the perforating device ideally creating a conduit so that flow of hydrocarbons into the wellbore can take place.

A tubing perforator is in the shape of a frac gun also called as perforating charge gun that can cause small holes or perforations into a cemented well casing. This frac gun or tubing perforator is loaded with the explosives called as “Charge”, which bursts on the wall of the cemented casing when gun is brought into its contact.
This equipment is brought down into the wellbore with the help of wireline on a tubing and thus, sometimes also known as tubing conveyed perforating gun. The charges in the frac gun are fitted at various phase angles such as 0, 60, 120 or 180 degrees. This helps in getting the optimal size of perforations which is around 1.3 cm or 0.5 inch.
