Purpose
The Sidewall Cutter is a specialized tool used in well operations to cut slickline or wireline between the tool and the tubing wall. It is particularly valuable in situations where a solid footing, which is typically required by other cutters, is not available.
The tool operates similar to an A Tubing Slip Stop, relying on downward motion to compel the slips to move upward, thereby expanding them. This action ensures a secure grip on the line, enabling effective cutting.
The Sidewall Cutter is available in various configurations, allowing it to cut lines of up to 0.140 inches in diameter, and accommodate a range of tubing sizes.
